Following on from my first look at the TT Combat Sci Fi Scenics currently on Kickstarter I thought I'd have a look at the Alpha and Beta Buildings.

This kit goes together in a similar fashion to the Shipping Containers. Four outer walls slot together and attach to the floor. After that you insert the four inner walls via the slots in the floor. Once again the doors are laser cut so you can remove them if you wish.

The last step is to the add the roof and hey presto its built. I like the fact the kit has a laser etched floor as well as roof, a lot of other terrain company skip that and leave the floor bare.

The design of the building is nice, the laser cut walls and detail give it a nice sci fi look and i like the corner extrusions as they provide some nice additional cover. There's also little attachments for what looks like signs that go above the doors and windows. No doubt we'll see some acrylic add ons appear in the Kickstarter later.

Like the Storage Containers this stacks up nicely with other buildings thanks to the design of the outer walls.

Once again my only niggle about the kit would be that some of the laser etched details are quite wiggly. I suspect this should be ironed out in the Kickstarter though.

The Beta building once again follows the previous examples in the first step of construction, four outer walls slotting together and connected to the nice laser etched floor. The only difference being the addition of two supports either side of each door.

There are no interior walls for this, which at first i thought was a shame as i thought the windows could do with some more detail. All soon became clear those as i added the outer details.

As you can see the long what I'm going to call blast shields cover the windows. I personally didn't glue the middle strip on so it could be removed, possibly representing some one inside opening it to survey the surrounding area.
With the "blast shields" attached the last step was to stick the roof on to finish off the build. Once again i didn't glue the roof in place as getting access tot he interior is a must :)

Again this follows a similar style to the Alpha building with the specially shaped walls to allow stacking of other buildings on top easily. I really liked the shape of this building too, I had images of Hadley's Hope from Aliens popping into my head when i placed that Spetnaz around the building. Once again wiggly line syndrome as the only niggle.

When you combine the Alpha and Beta buildings you get some pretty interesting visuals :) The top picture reminds me of a store and i can imagine the "blast shields" being covered in holo ads etc. The bottom picture strikes me with a more outpost feel. I'm really looking forward to getting more of these and playing around.

Currently these take up 4 sheets of mdf each on the Kickstarter which equates to £15 if you buy four straight. A great price again IMO if you compare similarly sized buildings from other companies.

I have two more of these i intend to build, film and post on youtube so I'll get a link up to them as soon as its done :)

Until next time.
